The idea for Colorful Kidz began after a trip to India where I worked at an orphanage. I returned home inspired to do more to help children. Through church I met a family transitioning from a shelter into public housing. The church could provide furniture, but linens and “homey” items were still needed.

I learned that the two young brothers loved baseball and airplanes. Having been an interior designer for over 25 years, I embraced this chance to help this family. When the boys saw their room makeover, their joy was immeasurable as was mine. It was on that day that Colorful Kidz was born.

Today Colorful Kidz is a 501(c) 3 children's nonprofit. We have a 1000 sq. foot retail space and workshop located in East Sandwich, Massachusetts. Our mission is to create room makeovers for children and teenagers in need on Cape Cod.
